What is Hatch in the Woods?
Welcome to our nurturing forest school group for toddlers and their adults.
Each session starts with a welcome song and an introduction to the week’s activities. While some of the play set up remains consistent, to help children grow in familiarity and confidence, other aspects change; such as our weekly nature craft.
We like to keep things interesting and increase awareness of the changing seasons around us. After free play we come back together to share a snack (provided by us), story and a song. And did we mention that we also provide hot drinks for the grown ups?! There’s nothing quite like a hot cuppa in the woods!
From mud play, to tree climbing, and from singing to sawing logs; all of our activities are geared towards helping children explore the great outdoors and for you to leave the session feeling nurtured and connected.
All activities are child led, meaning there is no pressure to behave in a certain way or to join in with anything they don’t want to. Our main focus is on your child gaining confidence and playing in nature however they want to - we follow their lead.
We only take 15 families per session to ensure the quality of our classes and so that you and your child get the most out of your experience.

Block Booking
£34 for 4 session
Children get the most out of any forest school by attending on a regular basis. It connects them to the changing seasons around them, attunes them to how the woods changes its sight, smell and texture when in different weather conditions, as well as enabling them to take ownership of their space; creating dens that they can play in week after week, becoming familiar with the resources, tools and teachers. And as an added bonus, block booking saves you money and secures your spot for a full half term.
Drop In
£10 per session
If you can’t commit to half termly bookings then choosing the ‘drop in’ option is the one for you. Choose the weeks you can attend - we can’t wait to see you there.
